fourteen days of new

I've been in Chiang Mai for 14 days. I spent half those days thinking, a quarter sleeping, a quarter eating, and zero adjusting. The transition was so smooth it's scary. My move from Halifax to Toronto was scarier. It took me two years to like Toronto. With Chiang Mai, it took me oh say, two and a half minutes. There's lots to like. There's the obvious (massages, coconuts, sunshine, all under $5 or free). But most of all, there's the feeling of new. That's a nice one. New gives you hope, new throws you inspiration, new takes time to breathe and appreciate anything. Only time will tell when new becomes not new. But right now, I'm in love with what it is.

Here are some pretty pictures of new.
